Saturday - Day 2 in Italy

Per-Håkan briefs the group before tomorrows ride out
After helping get all the bikes of the trailer. Into the hotel, grab my room key and say hi to the newly promoted manager Marcello! A lovely guy who's always willing to help as much as he can. And unfortunately I have to add, looking way too tired for a man of his young years. I fear the job is getting the better of him.

After dwelling on that fact and conveying my thoughts to Marcello about a little R&R not hurting, I got to my room, changed and with a small group of cyclists headed out to the panarama route that hugs the coastline south toward Pesaro.

Once we hit about 20kms out we were at a magnificent viewpoint over the Adriatic where a lovely 22% hill falls down to the beach. About 800 meters long I informed them that at least one person tries this hill on every trip. But we were now all sorted. The man reason for our trip today was to make sure that our bikes were working well.
I finished off by taking them down a slightly precarious hill with lots of small pot-holes. Mainly to accentuate that out here, you take nothing for granted and stay aware. I warned them before the descent to keep their distance and eyes ahead on the road.
All agreed it was a road they would rather miss in the future. For me; Job done. They took heed.
We rolled home and on arrival I checked my new Mavic Carbone wheels. it seems that the brakes were slight touching the carbon profiles on the rims. This was not good, they were at maximum height so there was nothing else to it than to get to the local bikes store in Catolica.
There I was given new brakepads which were filed down so as not to touch the carbon.
€40!! Nothing to do but pay .... "On Monday if that's ok, here with Cycletours, we'll be here on Monday"

Back to hotel ... food ... sleep
