The above video was taken 2009 just north of Katrineholm, gives you an idea of the kind of landscape we ride through. Road wise, this stage is my favourite.
CK Ceres is a great club, and obviously produce great riders, Kalle Sandell is one name many know, another great but perhaps not so well known name (Yet) is Daniel Johnsson. There is a reason why I asked certain people if they want to be leaders on Ride of Hope. Daniel is a good strong rider with a great sense of knowing what's required and what's needed around him ... ok, enough already.

This day went fast, not speedwise, more mindwise. When you're having fun time does fly. I do remember that Nicklas was feeling a bit too warm for comfort. I do remember that our group was starting to tire.
I remember the depot just at the crossing over Mälaren and then I remember the finish in Västerås. hmmm, funny thing about Västerås, or should I say their club;
The wanted nothing to do with Ride of Hope this year. After 2 years of helping us, I was sent a long mail with 4 questions that felt like I was being grilled over the hows and whyfores we wanted a contract with the club that would stipulate who did what. ie: We provide the food and drink, they provide som cyclists to guide us in and out of Västerås and someone to stand at the depot and pass out the food.
They asked if it was a sponsor that was pressing us for a contract?? Not at all, we just wanted to make sure everyone knew their role. This didn't seem to satisfy Västerås CK, and told me short and sweetly (via email of course)
"Västerås CK have decided not to participate in Ride of Hope as we are missing the bigger picture!" .... Indeed they do. Shame that, still ... we rode on and ate at Donken.
Later this evening a very special guest would arrive and join us in tomorrows ride to Uppsala :O) <---- My happy face
